Both robots do well picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they are very good at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However, unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we tested the i3+ does not have a feature for avoiding obstacles which means it can get stuck on things like socks or power cords and it can have difficulty traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to carpet.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, including clearing out any toys or clutter it may encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is empty, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its trash into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it left off. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use. It takes around three hours to recharge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line, and it comes with the most recent features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for routine maintenance.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying, which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines, move itself around the room and sweep a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world filled with vacuums with cords that feel like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is an automobile. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in many households and can fit nicely on the coffee table or a bookshelf that you can spin around like the magic wand.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then releases cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to suck up large crumbs and fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adjusted to suit the task. It is able to quickly change from handheld to floor vacuum, and vice versa.
This model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also offers the ability to connect two attachments as well as a Wand. This is a big improvement over older Dysons, which take a long time to charge and are difficult to store.
The biggest issue with the V10 is its short run time. Its marketing claims that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is an average, not an exceptional, time to run a battery-powered cordless vac. It's enough time to sweep the average-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second run generally works). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeable superior on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums The 694 is an entry-level model that's an excellent choice for people who don't want to spend too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up a variety of debris types and sizes during our testing, and it often goes over the same areas several times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front allows it to reach the corners and edges of walls.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top selections, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It can get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and will often run out of power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694, as it has less parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower recurring cost, has more advanced automation abilities and is better able to maneuver itself. It also has a larger dustbin, and charges more quickly.
